God vs. Science-Time Magazine
Here I am-stuck on I-70 just East of Glenwood Springs in the canyon with no telephone access and no Internet access. What am I to do? Blog offline and watch the only DVD movie I happen to have with me (don’t worry, I have an A/C adaptor so I will not run out of power-unless I run out of gas.
What’s going on in the world?
Can politics become anymore “political”. I am sorry my “educated” friends, but as moronic as you think the Republicans are, if you are still a believer of the Democrats you are JUST as much of a moron. I know there are good people in both parties, but the publically displayed so-called “leaders” of both parties are naïve closed minded and tunnel visioned at best, and at worst-simply evil.
Do I sound a bit jaded?
I am.
Time actually had a good article called “God vs. Science-A Spirited debate between atheist biologist Richard Dawkins and Christian geneticist Francis Collin.”
I am going to post my full review of the article later this week, but to give you a taste here are two of my initial takeaways:
1-The radical anti-evolution pseudo-Christian scientists have finally upset the atheist Mr. Dawkins so much that he is now beyond smug and arrogant-he is actually angry and mean as he attacks the aforementioned Christians.
2-Christian Geneticist Dr. Collins sounds more like a relativist (not in the bad sense of the word-I should just say “open-minded”, but that would be less provacative) than the atheist Mr. Dawkins. Dr. Dawkins sounds like a closed minded legalistic atheist, whereas Dr. Collins is saying we at the very least simply need to be open to the idea that there could be a God, and that he believes there is.
Dr. Collins’ views are much more in line with the average Christian, the average non-Christian and also the Biology professors I had at Rockhurst University-who were all Christians and all believed in the study of and taught evolution.
Refreshing that the mainstream media was honest enough to show these two people for what they truly are, and as my next review will detail, reveals some definite contradictions (if not hypocrisy) in Dr. Dawkins atheistic statements, and consistency in Dr. Collins’.

National Association of Evangelicals-ties to supporting "Emergent"?
"The board of the National Association of Evangelicals has chosen Leith Anderson, a Minnesota pastor and author, as the organization's interim president - Brief ArticleChristian Century, Nov 7, 2001."
So now that the President of this organization is the head pastor of the church where Doug Pagitt got his start, and Doug is one of the founders of the Emergent Church-do you think Leith can attest to Doug's integrity as a pastor/theologist, will he be sure to distance himself from Doug, or do neither?
This website; http://www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com/wooddale.htm, seems to have been trying to call Leith out as an emergent supporter for a while, and labeling the activity as the "Slippery Slope of Deception and Mysticism.
They don't seem to be calling out any pastors who have homosexual and drug related tendencies. Not that they should, just saying...
Anyway, I wonder if we will hear that Leith will not be appointed permanently because of his association with emergent leaders (or any other reason).
It would be too bad, because I have been to Leith's church a few times (we lived minutes away), and while I did not enjoy the mega-church formulaic approach, the messages were good and he is someone whom I would trust. I am sure he has his struggles as we all do, but he is someone I would describe as "authentic".
Not sure why the Twin Cities produces so many quality people, but there are a lot of smart people out there.
Too bad the majority of them have been brainwashed by the democratic party ;).

Finally!
After 2 1/2 years, I finally finished my MBA from Regis University. Please send money to help me celebrate.
At the same time, Prince has now become a "Vegas Act".
I think I may have passed him on the way up as he is now on his way down.
Any thoughts?
Any money?
Cheers.
